A paint job is only as good as the surface beneath it. Prime Finish Painters performs all drywall repair and surface preparation in-house — we do not subcontract this work to a separate crew. Our painters are trained in both painting and drywall repair, which means the same person who patches your wall also paints it. This matters because they understand how the repair will interact with the finish coat. We handle everything from small nail holes and hairline cracks to larger patches from door handles, plumbing access, and electrical work. All repairs are feathered and sanded flush with the surrounding surface, then primed with a high-hide primer before any finish coat is applied. We do not skip the primer step on repairs — it is the single most important factor in preventing flashing (visible patch outlines) in the finished wall.
Prime Finish Painters has served homeowners across Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties since 2009. Our drywall repair work is performed exclusively by our own trained team — we do not subcontract any portion of your project. Michael Caruso personally reviews every estimate and conducts a final walkthrough before considering any job complete.
New Jersey’s coastal climate presents specific challenges for paint and surface finishes. Salt air, humidity, and freeze-thaw cycles accelerate the degradation of improperly applied coatings. Our preparation process — which typically accounts for 40% of total project time — is designed specifically to address these conditions. We use only premium materials from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, selected for their performance in the Mid-Atlantic climate.
We inspect all surfaces and document every repair needed before providing an estimate.
