About This Service

Interior painting transforms the way a home feels from the moment you step through the door. At Prime Finish Painters, we treat every interior project as a precision exercise — from the initial color consultation through the final coat inspection. We work with Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams premium lines exclusively, selecting the right sheen for each surface: eggshell for living areas, semi-gloss for trim and doors, and flat for ceilings. Our team masks and protects every surface not being painted, covers floors with canvas drop cloths, and removes all hardware before beginning. We do not use tape alone as a cutting edge — our painters cut in freehand for a sharper, cleaner line. Most interior projects in a standard four-bedroom home are completed in two to three days, with same-day cleanup after each session.

Prime Finish Painters has served homeowners across Monmouth, Ocean, and Middlesex counties since 2009. Our interior painting work is performed exclusively by our own trained team — we do not subcontract any portion of your project. Michael Caruso personally reviews every estimate and conducts a final walkthrough before considering any job complete.

New Jersey’s coastal climate presents specific challenges for paint and surface finishes. Salt air, humidity, and freeze-thaw cycles accelerate the degradation of improperly applied coatings. Our preparation process — which typically accounts for 40% of total project time — is designed specifically to address these conditions. We use only premium materials from Benjamin Moore and Sherwin-Williams, selected for their performance in the Mid-Atlantic climate.

Our Process

1

Color Consultation

We bring physical swatches and help you choose colors in your actual lighting conditions

2

Surface Preparation

Holes filled, cracks repaired, surfaces sanded and primed before any color goes on.

3

Precision Application

Two coats minimum, cut in by hand, inspected under raking light before we leave.

4

Final Walkthrough

You inspect every surface with us present. We address any touch-ups on the spot.

I recently had my deck repaired and painted by Prime Finish Painters, and I couldn't be happier with the results. They made the necessary repairs, did an excellent job painting the deck, and completed everything exactly as agreed. Their pricing was very reasonable, and the quality of work exceeded my expectations. The crew was professional, reliable, and easy to work with throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend Prime Finish Painters to anyone looking for quality workmanship at a fair price.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long does interior painting take for a typical home?
A standard four-bedroom, two-bathroom home typically takes two to three days for a full interior repaint, including preparation, priming, and two finish coats. Larger homes or those requiring significant repairs may take four to five days.
We ask that you clear small items and valuables from the rooms being painted. Our team handles moving larger furniture away from walls and covering everything with drop cloths. We return furniture to its original position before we leave.
We use Benjamin Moore Aura and Regal Select lines for most interior projects, and Sherwin-Williams Emerald for high-traffic areas. Both are premium low-VOC formulations that dry quickly and hold their finish for many years.
Yes. We accept single-room projects, though our minimum job size is $400. Single-room projects are typically completed in one day.
We use low-VOC and zero-VOC paints wherever possible and ensure all windows are opened during and after application. Most rooms are safe to occupy within four hours of the final coat.
